On Monday, 30th January, 2023, the Design and Technology Institute (DTI) presented to the Pro-vice-chancellor, the Career Services Centre and the Industrial Liaison Committee a report of the just ended DTI Internship Program. One hundred and thirty-eight KNUST students participated in the program. The internship program sought to bridge the gap between academia and industry to equip students to become work-ready.
The thematic areas for training include: Welding and Fabrication, Engineering Sciences (Mechanical, Civil and Electrical), Industrial Atrs, Hospitability, Fashion Design and Textiles, Design Innovation (ICT, Graphic Designing), Business Administration (Secretaryship, Accounting, HR, Finance, Estate Management).
The internship program enabled students gain confidence, valuable work experience, network with professionals in the field, transition into a job, as well as develop and refine their skills.
